Charity

As part of our responsible business activities, we also pursue charitable causes, including help for children and their families.

We are deliberately reaching beyond purely commercial operations. As part of our responsible business activities, we also pursue charitable causes, including help for children and their families.

At Cyfrowy Polsat we have a tradition, dating several years back, of handing over the Christmas gifts budget to beneficiaries of the Polsat Foundation. In 2013, we used those funds for treatment of a 15-year old Karolina of Zagościniec, suffering from an innate immunological deficiency (Nijmegen Breakage Syndrome) and treated at the Immunology Clinic of the Children‘s Memorial Health Institute for a cytomegaloviral infection.

‘Help with Plus’ was last year’s charity action in which pre-paid customers could support as many as eight foundations. Plus donated 10% of each top-up amount to customer’s foundation of choice. The foundations were supported at no cost to the customers as their top-up was not reduced and Plus was funding the entirety of donations for the selected public benefit organisations. The rule was simple, the higher the top-up amount, the larger donation was transferred by Plus. The ‘Help with Plus’ charity action was supported by a media campaign featuring Maciek Rock under the ‘Be yourself, top up with goodness!‘ slogan. The following foundations participated in the action:

  • The Polsat Foundation,
  • The Radio ZET Foundation,
  • The Santa Claus Foundation,
  • The Przyjaciółka Foundation,
  • The Wiosna Association (The Noble Package),
  • The Roman Czarnecki Educational Foundation (EFC),
  • The Herosi Foundation,
  • The Foster Families Foundation.

As part of its charitable activities, in cooperation with Nobody’s Children Foundation Polkomtel launched the first nationwide helpline for children and youth available, for free, at 116 111. The number is operated by qualified psychologists and educators who provide professional advice and support for young people in crisis situations.

Charity SMS donations are one of the most popular methods of supporting social initiatives at Polkomtel. Donations are used to help to victims of accidents or natural disasters and to save human life and health. The Plus network operator does not charge any commission on charity SMS donations.

At present, Plus cooperates with such organisations as:

  1. The Polsat Foundation,
  2. The TVN Foundation,
  3. The Ewa Błaszczyk Akogo Foundation,
  4. The Hospice Foundation,
  5. The Anna Dymna Mimo Wszystko Foundation,
  6. The Wiosna Association (The Noble Package),
  7. Caritas Polska,
  8. Dzieło Pomocy Ad Gentes.
