October 17th 2014 Telewizja Polsat has signed a preliminary agreement for the acquisition of 100% of shares in the Muzo.fm radio for PLN 4.3m. The Polsat Group is developing a wide reaching integrated music project, to be accessible on TV, radio, and the Internet.

Muzo.fm, which is going to replace PiN radio as of October 20th 2014, is a regional broadcaster available in 11 largest Polish cities, capable of reaching around 5 million listeners. This new project, focusing mostly on pop and rock music, is being created in cooperation with the Muzo.tv team, with the radio director, Marcin Bisiorek, being also the head of Muzo.tv.

“After the launch of Muzo.tv, the radio is our another music venture, a part of an integrated, comprehensive music project accessible through various media platforms: TV, radio, and the Internet”, says Maciej Stec, Member of the Management Board of Telewizja Polsat.

The new radio will closely cooperate with both Muzo.tv and the website muzo.pl, thus generating synergies in the following areas:

  • marketing of the Muzo project,
  • preparation of materials for publication,
  • distribution of music content in all fields of use.

“Acquisition of the radio and the launch of the multi-platform Muzo project are in line with Polsat’s strategy of being a leader of the entertainment industry in Poland, implemented through the creation and distribution of the most attractive content. Our clients will be able to access their favourite songs both at home and away, using any device they like”, says Dominik Libicki, President of the Management Board of Cyfrowy Polsat.

The intention of the new owner is to secure radio audience share of 1% within a year from the launch of the new channel.

Polsat Media advertising sales house is responsible for sale of advertisements on Muzo.fm.
